Unfortunately the moon is very blown out. All you can see is white, because it is overexposed.

Are you able to set the shutter speed, ISO and aperture manually on your camera? If you can, I'll tell you a little trick. :)

I don't know how well this works with point'n'shoot cameras, I know it does work with an slr. The only way you'll know is if you try it. :)

The only constant variable is that the aperture must be set to f/11. The shutter speed is dependant on the ISO - basically, you need to choose a shutter speed that is the closest to the ISO number that you are using. If you can't get an exact match, use the closest higher number, e.g. 1/500 for ISO 400.
